Whenever you hear the above word you mind shifts to the gore and creative kills of the Mortal Kombat franchise game characters. Now we finally getting the live action movie of it ….well there was before in the 90’s but people don’t want to remember that.
Warner bros release the trailer as R-rated meaning they are not holding back on the gore and violence which is entirely the main selling point of Mortal Kombat franchise. The new Mortal Kombat is directed by Simon McQuoid, who has teamed up with producer James wan for a long-running live action film from 2016. McQuide will direct the script, written by Greg Ross and Dave Callaham who brought us WW84. The very first look of the movie was given in the early HBO max preview of different warner bros projects set to be released in 2021 alongside with Godzilla vs Kong, Matrix 4, Dune and many more.
Now by the looks of the trailer the movie indeed promises a R-rated action with the fan-favorite characters like Liu Kang, Sub-Zero, Kano, Raiden and Sonya Blade. The story is still a bit vague as not much is shown in the trailer but it sure seems that the movie will not be focused on too much characters we may get cameos as a glimpse of Goro can be seen in the trailer other than that we definitely will get to hear famous catchphrases “Get Over Here”.
